The way we see it, there are so many ways to be a sensitive person. We try to cover as many as possible with our practices. We try not to overwhelm you with synthetic fragrance, not hurt your beloved animal buddies, and we think about the environment as much as you do. We try to be the best possible listeners and TAKE CARE OF YOU while you’re here, and we never forget to have fun!
Sparrow is one of Chicago's most beautifully designed salons. Owners Susan Flaga and Bathsheba Nemerovski opened the salon in a 135 year-old building in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. Sparrow's stylists are known for their creation of low-maintenance cuts and natural looking color with an unconventional approach. With over five decades of collective styling experience under their belts, and countless write-ups in the likes of Chicago Magazine, Chicago Reader, the New York Times, Time Out Chicago Magazine, Allure, and Wallpaper* City Guide, the foursome have developed a devoted following.
Stylists and salons come and go. The ladies of Sparrow could churn out trendy cuts by the dozen, but they excel when their aesthetic remains similar to that of their salon: an air of classicism with innovative modern twists, making the salon a visionary business in Logan Square, and a destination for the well-styled worldwide.
The main focus of the Sparrow Experience is to create a warm, inclusive environment where our clients always feel listened to, educated, and well taken care of. We continually pursue education and strive to better ourselves, The Client Experience, our industry, and our planet.

Masks are optional, but we will accommodate any requests.
We have installed plexiglass partitions between stations.
We have expanded our salon space to allow 6 feet between all clients.
We have installed hand-sanitizing stations.
We have a new air filtration system.
We will provide masks at cost for color services or when your mask interferes with your haircut.

With fairness to our clients and stylists in mind, we’ve chosen genderless pricing. It’s the way it always should have been. Each stylist has one haircut price for everyone. We offer a $10 price reduction for frequent flyers(cuts that are booked for a date within 5 weeks of your previous haircut appointment)!

What’s a Clean Air Salon?!
We dedicate ourselves to providing a sustainable environment for ourselves, our clients, and the planet. That means using a low-tox, cruelty free color line that’s PPD, Resorcinol, and Ammonia free with less than 1% of synthetic fragrance.
We eliminated synthetic fragrance, aerosol, and animal testing from all of our Hair Care products. We're greatly reducing plastic packaging and continuing to recycle and compost our waste. We also utilize an extra program that eliminates and recycles all salon specific waste, including caps, gloves, foils, hair, and unused color.
